Are you a menu planner? If not, now is the time to start. Thanksgiving and Christmas are quickly approaching, and because my children and the grand babies will be here I DON’T want to spend most of my time in the kitchen; I want to enjoy my precious family. Planning menus saves you a lot of money & time because you can get two meals out of one, eat left over’s a few days later, or freeze them – which is what I do. I also try to make two casseroles at one time – heck, I already have all the ingredients, so I may as well utilize my time. Don’t forget to double your grocery list of ingredients you don’t have. Plan your meals around deals the stores are having and if you have coupons to match. At any given time most stores are having some kind of meat sale. Turkey prices are always lower early on, so grab several and freeze them for now, and to eat later this year and next year. Of course cookies are on the menu during the holidays, so begin now and freeze them. Do you have a strategy for the Holidays or weekly meals in general? We would love to hear about them; we may just learn a thing or two. THANKS!
